The Liberal Democrats have two candidates for the May local elections 2024
We have two candidates for the local elections for West Moors in Sally Walls and Peter Durant.
Peter Durant
Peter is orginally trained as a Civil Engineer, but retrained as a Maths Teacher. He taught at a local school for over 30 years until his retirement
He lives with his wife of over 25 years and together they brought up a son and daughter who attended local schools.
Peter is passionate about the environement and keen to see improvements locally and nationally. He also wants to work towards enhancing our green spaces and improving access to local public transport.
As well as loving to visit and walk in the beautiful Dorset countryside we are blessed to have on our doorstep, Peter is also a keen cyclist.
Sally Walls
Sally is a retired Police Officer who now works as a Mortgage Advisor. She is also active in raising funds and awareness for local disability and cancer charities.
She lives with her husband, retired firefighter, and between them they have a large family.
Apart from work, Sally loves spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is passionate about protecting local services for future and current users and will fight for these services as a local Councillor.
In addition Sally has a number of family members working in the front line of the NHS, and is determined that we ensure that the NHS is adequately funding and secure for years to come.
